You know what we haven't done in a while? Had a drink together.
[ Practically everybody in Dorian's life is being exhausting right now, so time to hang out with one of the least exhausting people he knows (which says a lot more about everybody else than it does Kiki herself) ]
Now that you and your warden are back to yourselves and he is no longer in that inconvenient state of childhood, I am curious. Do you have your magic back? Was the lapse simply temporary due to that damned flood or do I have to harass him in person?
No, I do not, because he believes I am irresponsible with the powers I have been able to harness since birth. We have had numerous discussions [re; tantrums] about it and so far all I've been able to access is the relatively useless form of oracle magic.
I doubt anything a near-stranger will say will be enough to convince him of anything. Nor do I have anything worth bargaining for to make it worth your time.
['Knocking' is probably not strong enough a word for what Blitzø does. Instead it's a flurry of rapid battering on Kiki's door accompanied by him yelling.]
[When, she thinks to herself as she scurries off her tiny bed in her tiny room, did she become Kiki to these people?! 'Kiki' was a pet name: a diminutive not often used except for people who wanted to be her friend. Even Mother used her full name!
Although her and Mother had always been rather formal with one another, she has to admit.
She shakes her head, resolves to confront the issue of informality and lack of respect at a later date and opens the door for Blitzø. He's probably the only person on this ship apart from her who doesn't need to crouch down to enter her cabin; the door is perfect for imps and demons of lesser height]
I heard you the first time you knocked, Troll! What is here?
Hey! So I have Blitz on the line and he's beating around the bush saying he knows about something you want that you don't want to ask me for because I'm mad at you. Annnd since I'm not mad at you, I think we need to talk.
[It's almost a week since the flood and while Blitzø is burying his feelings deeply coping well enough, he's reminded by Staples of the wooden egg he'd acquired before everything went tits up on the boat. It's a possible distraction, and so he heads to Kiki's door and knocks, a box hidden behind his back.]
Kikimora, I saw that John Gaius graduated and plans on leaving. I’m so sorry. Do you need anything? Company? Hot chocolate? Something destructive to do in the Enclosure?

Your room. The lounge is too busy and my room won't fit two.

Ah. Yes. Of course. Although I can't come to you in person. I hope that's all right.

I should have said something to youand I didn't. That was my failure. I've done some shitty things after I lost people, so - I get it.
He's fine, though. You know that, don't you?

Kiki, may I have a word in person? Either my room or yours shall suffice, but no matter what, I shall have a bottle of sherry on hand.
no subject
Your room may be best, I can't imagine you'd fit comfortably in mine. It's not built for human sizes.

Within MINUTES of Malcolm's post
[There's even a loud chirp from Flapjack in agreement, bright and thrilled.]
Re: Within MINUTES of Malcolm's post
You STARTLED me.
[she calms down, pleased]
But thank you. It's about time, too. I've seen so many lesser creatures graduate before me.
[this is, by now, an act. She's nervous and portraying her old self so that she has time to freak out in private]
