[Kiki pets the invisible palisman, encouraging her to make herself visible again]

What precisely necessitated me coming to you, Warden? You know where the vet clinic is and I was busy! As you might have guessed by this recent development.

[immediately Kikimora feels a sense of foreboding and worry for Princess, who she left in the cabin. Scared now for her two pets she has to now mind, she hurriedly sets Scalpel in Malcolm's hands so she can unlock her door.

Scalpel, in turn, blinks up at Malcolm and then shifts her coloring to match his suit and hands]

You’re amazing! [Yes, he’s talking to Scalpel. Maybe he’s getting distracted again.]

[Princess of course is fine, barrelling into Kikimora's arms when she calls for her. She waits nervously at the door, suspicious.

Scalpel preens at the praise, but hides herself through camouflage when she sees Princess sniffing about, shutting her eye to turn all but invisible. It won't stop her from getting sniffed out but she might have a few seconds of advantage either way]

I don't know! Titan, Bright, you're so....nng! Keep Scalpel away from her. Princess, come.

[Princess snorts at Malcolm but retreats, coming to sit at Kiki's side]

[Malcolm steps inside, glancing around from under his brow. He sees the door, but he keeps his attention on Scalpel.]

So. Anything out of place? Orrrr... different from how you left it?

[Kikimora hiccups, having caught sight of the door at last. She takes a hesitant breath and resolves to not cry!!]

Nothing is changed.

[He manages to let just the corners of his lips tick up a tiny bit.]

No? Did you check in there? [He points to the door.] Nothing is missing from that… closet?

Obviously I know what my own room looks like, Warden Bright!

[Her voice cracks a little. Scalpel makes a rawwwr?? noise of concern in Malcolm's hands, nibbling one of his fingers]

[she turns to stare, teary-eyed, up at Malcolm]

[she turns to start hitting his thigh with her fist. Princess puts Kiki's arm in her mouth and gently leads her back to the bed to sit down]

You....What am I supposed to do now? I don't have a PLAN.

I didn't know until I looked to see where you were, to come see Scalpel, and you weren't on my device anymore. Then I suspected. What do you mean by a plan? A plan of what to do now? A plan of what to use your Deal for?

[At the sound of her name, Scalpel yells out a softer, high-pitched version of an alligator bellow. Kikimora snorts]

I KNOW what I'm going to use my deal for. I told Hunter weeks ago.

I don't know where to go!

So stay here for a bit until you figure it out. Nobody is kicking you off the boat. You're a Warden now. Read the ledger. Go into the Enclosure without permission. Take advantage of the Warden Only Swedish Spa. [Okay, the last one is just teasing.] And let me know what your deal is when you want me to request it from the Admiral.

[Rude! Kiki huffs and hugs Princess to her]

I told Hunter I wanted to replant the great Palistrom forests. Palismen are rare in our world because Belos killed any he could find. It normally takes hundreds of years to mature a forest and I wouldn't even know where to begin.

There's no spa! [Laughing.] But you could do the other stuff! And I think that's a great deal. Maybe you could go there and be its guardian. The Guardian of the Forest. You can live in a cottage and watch over it.
