If he was behaving in a way I didn’t understand, I normally take that as a threat.

I will ALWAYS attack first if I’m threatened. I am the smallest creature here: if I allow an attack, I will likely not be in a position to retaliate.

So yes. I set a stranger lurking outside my door waiting for me on fire. The fact that you perceive him as harmless is not universal. ESPECIALLY when that someone is another inmate.
